Just for fun, i figured i'd make a topic where people post cool tricks and stuff they have discovered that people can do with their computers.
Right now my trick is that if you unplug the bright green audio out cord from the back of your PC, not the speakers, then plug it into the headphone jack of your boombox, cd player, tape player, ipod, or mp3 player, you can play songs over your PC speakers. This is good if you know how to wire several PC speakers together, and want to make a surround sound system out of them, and put it in your car or bedroom.
For those of you with a PSP, using the USB cord, which has an A, B, and charger plug on it, plug the charger part into anything that has a big enough AC adapter outlet, then plug the A USB into the computer, that will power the device, then plug it into the green audio out cord, like with the above. You can play that device over the PC speakers like the others, and not wear down the batteries. You can probably buy the A, B, and charger output USB cord at walmart or something. this is also good for when your at school and your batteries die(cough zanark)
For those of you with an Ipod that has a USB plug on it, just plug it into the computer, then if you want to play it over the speaker, just plug in the audio out cord from the back, just like in the above. This is good cause you can charge it while using it...but i guess that would just negate one another depending on how much battery is used to play a song, and how much is recovered in that length of time of charging.
By plugging the audio out plug into the headphone of any video game system: PSP, GB, GBA, Nintendo DS, Sega Game Gear, etc, it will play all audio over the speakers, thus giving you surround sound, for video games. I like it for the PSP game Infected, when the song When it Cuts, by Ill Nino plays on game menu and during gameplay.
The next trick is illegal as some might call it so if you have a problem with downloading, etc, dont read....If the mods have a problem with this next one, then delete that part, or just let me know and i'll get rid of it.
Go to my computer, open the C:/ drive, go to the "Program" folder, search through all the folders there for all games and programs you want to copy, copy the folder with all the program files in it and burn it to a CD. I've got the entire Sims game for PC on a CD that i can directly play it off, as well as Moraff's Majong(sp).
