Chapter 2: Over the first hurdle...
Ryu was the first to wake up. It was about 3 hours of sleep after they went to sleep, and they had an hour and a half to get to the exams. He decided to go wake up Chiyo and Kara. He got dressed and head into Chiyo’s room. He saw her sleeping in her futon and stood above her.
“Yo. Wake up.” He nudged her with his foot. She didn’t wake. Ryu bent down and took off her blanket and said, “Chiyo-kun wake…up….” He was shocked at the vision before him. She was... wearing nothing but underwear. “…………..Fuck.” Chiyo woke up and stared at Ryu for a moment, then looked down. 5 seconds later, she realized what was going on.
“EEEEEK! YOU PERV!” Chiyo screamed at him. Ryu ran out of the room scared, however his mistake was that he was still holding the blanket.

Ryu, Chiyo and Kara were all outside walking towards the exam building. Kara was making forced conversation between Ryu and Chiyo. Both of them looked away from each other all the way. When they arrived however the seemed to have forgiven each other, and were oddly formal to each other.
“Let’s go in shall we?” Asked Ryu. The other two nodded in agreement and turned in their forms. The stepped through the double doors and they realized they were the first people there.
“A bit early. Let’s go sit down over there then.” Chiyo pointed. The sat there talking about various things for about half an hour. During that time, more and more shinobi came and also waited. Ryu summoned a small ball of flame in the palm of his hand and played around with it. Chiyo and Kara were playing cards. After keeping themselves amused, the finally began the exam.
A protractor teleported into the room. Her name was Sara. She has almost strawberry blond hair, currently straightened, that fell a few inches below her shoulders. She was 5, 7 and her body was quite slender. She wore sleek, slightly tinted sunglasses that covered her blue eyes. She wore dark jeans that were flared, and wore a black vest. She wore her Hitai-ate around her forehead.
“Right then. It’s time to begin the first exam of the Chunin selection exams. I hope you all are intelligent enough to pass. Last year only about 3 teams passed. Pitiful.” She then assigned each genin seats. When she reached Ryu, Chiyo and Kara, she did a double take on their Hitai-ates. But she asked no questions. She was informed of their mission after all. She thought to herself. (“I wonder if… Hmm. Best not to think of it.”)
After all the genin were seated, Sara began to explain the rules. “This test will be based on your intelligence. As some may have told you, a... certain tradition was to test your cheating skills. This time, it will not, and you WILL be thrown out if you cheat. If we hire stupid ninja, then it’ll be the death of us all.” She gave out the test and snapped her fingers. “Start! You have one hour!”
All the genin began to work instantly. Ryu, Chiyo, and Kara all finished their test within 10 minutes and grinned to each other mentally as they flipped over their tests. They had used telepathic ninjutsu to communicate and trade answers. Translation, Kara gave all the answers.
“I swear, you guys are so useless without me.” Commented Kara mentally.
“Hey! You’re the weakest of us all…!” Whined Ryu.
“Psh. You’re the stupidest.” Said Chiyo to Ryu.
“…”At the end of the test, all the genin sighed and flipped over their tests as well. Although they worked hard, the team from Heaven and Hell were playing a guessing game, seeing which team was the weakest and how fast they could whoop someone.
Sara came around and collected the papers, and some Jounin helped her grade. During that time, all the teams got back together complaining about the difficulty of the test.
“Man that test was brutal, BRUTAL I tell you.” Said a young sand ninja.
“Stop complaining.” Snapped his female companion.
Ryu fell asleep as the game got boring, and Chiyo and Kara talked about the mission. “Have you seen any suspicious sound ninja?” Asked Kara.
Chiyo shook her head. “No, there are only 6 Sound ninja here and they seem normal. Nor have they had any contact with outsiders or any suspicious activity. Do you think the Kajikaze wanted to see how we’d do here?”
Ryu opened an eye. “Does it matter? We’re given a mission and we do it. I could care less about whether he lied to us about the sole purpose of the mission. I get a mission I’ll do it.”
Just then the protractor sorted all the Genin who failed and who passed. All who failed were ceremoniously thrown out of the room. Using a bomb jutsu.
The second protractor came and he looked like Link. Without the tights, just add the shinobi uniform for jounin. “My name is Rinku. Come with me.”
The remaining 27 followed Rinku to the Forest of Death.
