What do you think happens when you die? do you think you go to heaven? Do you think you start a new life? Lets share!

Explaining my beliefs on this topic would be very long and complicated so I'll make this as simple as possible. I don't believe in heaven or hell. I believe in this life. Doesn't mean that I think after you die there is no after-life. I believe in reincarnation. After we die, we are reborn back into this world. The reason I don't believe in heaven or hell is because I don't believe in what they stand for. Total absolute suffering or total absolute paradise. If I had the choice to leave earth and go to ether hell or heaven, I wolud pick neither! Hell is obvious why but why would I not want complete paradise you might ask? Simple, that's boring! I don't want to be happy all the time! I'm a libra so I believe everything is balanced. Sure being sad and depressed sucks but some good comes from it. I learn new things through depression an my artisticness is at it's peak when I'm depressed (Easy to tell if you look at even half of my poems). I don't want to go to heaven or hell once I die, I just want to live again. No expirances is as beautiful as this lifetime.
But that is just my belief.

Wow, finally, someone made a brain topic! I shall exalt thee, molope, for doing so!
Hmm, I agree with Kevin Jeremy ross, partially. I believe in neither heaven or hell (I could go into some funny jokes about whether heaven was hotter than hell or whether hell is endothermic or exothermic, but I'll leave that for another time.)
I am a devout athiest - I do not and cannot believe in any form of higher beings. I believe that if there were some sort of higher being/s, we would have definate proof or have less debate over whether they exist.
I, personally, believe in fate and/or destiny. It sounds corny I know, but let me explain. I believe that my life has, to a degree, been planned out for me. Events in my life are there for a purpose. Everything has a meaning. If i am going through a bad time, normally there is always something good to come out of it in the end, or it could well be a test of my mental and/or physical strength. I believe that the path has been laid out for me, it is just how I go about walking down that path.
Now, about death and beyond - I do not believe that death is the end. I do not believe in heaven or hell, because that means that there is a definitive right and wrong. so even if you think you are doing right, in the eyes of a judge you are doing wrong (which brings up the question of who this judge is, and do they have the authority to send a human being to a "life" (or afterlife) of endless torture and agony?), and people decide for themselves what is right and wrong. I know this also contrasts with other things (such as war - which side is the "good" side?), but I'll leave that aside for now. I believe in a form of afterlife, but to be painfully honest I do not actually know what form. I shall think upon this from now on.

I dont think it would be a great thing to be reborn because someday the world is going to end and there is going to be so much suffering. It would be the worst to be with your loved ones and to watch them die with you. But it can be possible that can happen. I'll write the message later on what I think will happen.

I don't really know. But in a way, I think it depends on your religion or something. Like if you're Christian you'll go to Heaven or hell. If you're Buddhist, then you'll go through reincarnation/Nirvana... ect. Cause how would it feel that if you die and you go through something completely different from your religion? I'd feel that I wasted my time on a false lie.

I don't believe in any of that pre-planned shit! I choose my own destiny! I am the only one that controls what happens in my life.
Oddly enough though I do believe in Karma. Also I believe certain factors are only controled by fate or luck/chance. But overall I pick what I want to happen in my life.

Hmm... PZ brought up an interesting theory to me... Now, most of us / countries go to war and stuff, or hate each other, because they believe their religion is the best and only true one. Now, what I believe PZ has taught me is this - Who's to say that all the religions are right? They all might exist, and it is just peoples perceptions that differrentiate them from others. They may well be heaven, nirvana, hell, re-incarnation, all of them existing and if you believe in one then that is the path that you shall follow.
But this doesnt change my beliefs. I understand what KJR is saying, that you are the only one to chose your destiny, but I'm not saying that everything you do is planned. Like i said, your path is beset before you, it is how you travel - you could run and get it over and done with, you could wander and wobble along taking things for granted, or you could stop and appreciate the little things along the side of the path. You will travel slower but you will have more time to appreciate the smaller things. Meh I use the path analogy too much ^^;

Completely disregarding everything everyone else has said, i'll just answer the question.
Personally, I believe it'd just be like sleeping. Y'know - complete blackout, no knowledge of ever existing, no thoughts, maybe a few dreams. Without that dreaming part.
Oh, Sure, I hope there's a higher power somewhere out there that's going to send my soul to paradise or whatever. But it's not like I think that will actually happen - It'd just be rather nice.
I don't believe that there is actually freewill - Your actions are just reactions to other actions which are reactions of other actions and so on and so forth. The only true thing that wasn't a reaction would be the creation of the universe.
But that's another topic all together.
