yay! i finally decided to be productive and type up my new rp idea! ^_^
beware the extremely lengthy intro...
so, the whole idea is that it seems people are being randomly (or possibly not...?) selected to be a part of a force that wipes out computer viruses, bugs, errors, and other small problems with in the computer. The only catch: the do it inside the computer.
-The Beginning-
One day while tapping away in a chat session, hacking into the Pentagon's database for the sixth time, looking up porn, or reprogramming a computer, a few people are suddenly sent a message from an unknown source that takes them into a totally new, but not completely unfamiliar world--a computer of unknown origins and intentions. The mission of this rag-tag group of now cyber-space virus hunters, or so it seems: to take out a dangerous virus, Orion80, that's slowly taking over the computer, even sending normally helpful aspects against them. This virus can spread to other computers, so all internet and network systems are vulnerable and must be guarded heavily.
-Settings-
This also means that the entire computer has become a battle ground of sorts and the battle can take place anywhere:
-chat rooms and instant messaging
-web sites
-computer games, where hunters actually become the main characters and bugs are in the form of the enemies
-word documtents, powerpoint presentations, even excel
-inside the hard drive ridden with files, some corrupt, some helpful
-the desktop as well, a flat, blue deserted area of sorts that serves as a home base for the group
-Enemies-
While the bugs are invaders, spawns of Orion80, errors are injuries of sorts that the computer has sustained, which will all need to be fixed when found. Bugs are usually very geometric, mechanic-looking creatures that look strange and slightly animalistic, and errors are broken or disconnected parts that glow red and can spark in more critical situations. Non-responsive programs need to be escaped and terminated quickly, lest you be trapped and ended with the program.
-Commands-
Tapping or touching an object is equal to clicking, while commanding something out loud will start the preformance of most other actions, such as making words appear in textboxes or word documtents.
-Character Creation-
Characters are the other half of the fun. All hunters have a color, (a color that they probably favor in the real world as well) which is assigned to them and is also their, i guess you could say, their theme color. They wear camouflage outfits that can be altered at will and carry weapons that are all very different, but all very powerful. Both the outfits and weapons are your choice, but both must be your color and different from everyone else's. All weapons are Virus Hunter 9000 Edition. (see my char below for an expample; it's just an edition name ^_^)
-Health and Deletion-
Survival is important. All will be equiped with a device that will measure damage by percents that also contains a short-range radar of sorts that will point out bugs, small viruses, and other potentially dangerous things. When your health reaches 0%, you are logged off, and because the virus will have damaged the software which brought you there and could therefore send you back, you will be deleted upon death. (no, you cannot be retrieved from the recycle bin XD) Of course, there are all types of bugs and viruses, so the smaller the less damage you'll recieve when hit, obviously. There is a way to recover as well: go back to the desktop and rest until you've made a recovery, which should only take about a minute.
-Downloading-
You can download help, like weapon upgrades or sheilding, but it's near impossible to tell which files are infected by other viruses until they are fully downloaded. While something is being downloaded, characters must be on guard. Viruses will sense the connection to the source being downloaded from, most likely the internet, and will come to investigate in hopes of spreading.
-Mac-
Mac is the guy who seems to have brought you here. He'll be introduced in the actual RP as one of my characters. You can speak to him on the desktop, and only the desktop, by commanding it, but normally, he'll speak to you when it's required. I'll put his description down below because he is technically one of my chars.
*pant*
now that that's through with...
character creation time!!
Name:
Screenname/Alias:
Age:
Color:
Weapon: (limit to 2, please)
Outfit: (just to make sure we're all different)
Personality:
Physical Appearance:
Other:
--my character--
Name: Tessa Deveroux
Screenname/Alias: FallenAngel26
Age: 19
Color: Purple
Weapon: Dual Automatic Pistols - Virus Hunter 9000 Edition (purple, black, and silver)
These pistols will be issued to Tessa when warped into the computer. The bullets eat away at a virus' data when a hit is made, deteriorating them slowly, though, it takes many shots to stop a virus in its tracks.
Outfit: black tank that shows stomach, camouflage bomber's jacket and cargo pants with tons of packets ^_^
Personality: The girl is logical and a bit serious, but she can have fun, rare as it is. She seems to be suffering from some sort of depression that she won't get over, and is just getting by with.
Physical Appearance: Short, angled black hair that covers one of her blue eyes. She wears colored contacts, which make her eyes purple, her favorite color. She's on the slender side, but she doesn't look skinny to an anorexic point.
Other: She wears a chain bracelet on her left wrist that never seems to leave her wrist
(Mac's Description-
Name: Mac (no...it's Joe...dur...)
Age: Unknown, looks to be 20-something
Physcal Description: handsome, intelligent looking guy with dark hair and glasses. Obviously, he was a computer nerd all through high school, but he looks to be a bit underestimated.
Personality: Cheerful, but logical. He loves a good joke and will crack one with any one who tries. He seems to be very determined and very open to people, but remains something of a mystery.)
EDIT: Updated tessa's weapons and added an alias section to the char creation info
