However, there is also, the spirit of the Cat. A variation of the Zodiac legend is as follows, which explains the involvement of the Cat.

The rat was given the task of inviting the animals to report to the Jade Emperor for a banquet to be selected for the zodiac signs. The cat was a good friend of the rat, but the rat tricked him into believing that the banquet was the next day. The cat slept through the banquet, thinking that it was the next day. When he found out, the cat vowed to be the rat's natural enemy for ages to come.

Name: Nina Sohma

Gender: Female
Animal: Tiger
Background: Nina never used to live with the rest of the Sohma family until one day when she was five a boy in her class hugged her and she changed into a tiger, scaring everyone out of their wits. For her protection her parents moved her to live with the other Sohma's, she's lived there for four years now.
Personality: Nina is sensitive, given to deep thinking, capable of great sympathy. She can be extremely short-tempered, however. She sometimes come into conflict with older people or those in authority. As the fighting animal, those born under tiger's sign are sensitive, aggressive, unpredictable, charming, emotional, courageous and capable of great love.
Physical Description: Nina is short for her age and has short brown hair that comes down just past her ears. Her big brown eyes seem to always be deathly serious even for her age. She's got a pale complexion but it suits her perfectly.
Eccentric Characteristic: Loves peanut butter and jelly sandwhichs and looks up to her elders greatly.

Animal: Dog
Background: Oliver has been part of the Sohma family for most of his life. His parents both died in a freak car accident and he couldn't risk an orphanage with all the pity hugs so he wandered the streets until he came across the Sohma residence.
Personality: People born in the Year of the Dog possess the best traits of human nature. They have a deep sense of loyalty, and inspire other people¡¦s confidence because they know how to keep secrets. Those born under this sign are honest, quiet, intelligent, generous, stubborn, loyal and faithful to those they love. But Dog People are somewhat selfish, terribly stubborn, and eccentric. Physical Description: Olvier is quite tall and has black hair that tends to hang down in front of his sleek yet soft gray eyes. He's got pale skin that contradicts his hair and eyes. He's very handsome though and has a good sense of style.

Background: Shin was born as the cat, bound by the double curse of the cat, he came to hate himself, until he became friends with Cho.
Personality: He’s high strung and is quite violent at times of a competition. However, he is also kind.
Physical Description: He has red hair, red eyes; he’s tall and pretty muscular. He’s also quite tall.
Eccentric Characteristic: Shin won’t care much about battles or anything. But once he’s in a competition, he’s all ready for it, and competitive.
Other: He’s also a literal genius.

Name: Daisuke Sohma
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Animal: Ox/Cow
Background: Being the Ox, he naturally distanced himself from girls, until Shin taught him the basics of defense to block girls from glomping him when they found him attractive, which was often.
Personality: He’s very kind, and he is also very popular. He’s the ideal ladies man. Cept for the fact that he’s the Ox. However, if you piss Daisuke off, he’s reallllly pissed.
Physical Description: He has black roots and the rest of the hair strand is white. He has brown eyes, he’s tall, strong, and sexy of course. Also, he wears those sexy circle glasses.
Eccentric Characteristic: He seems to have a second personality. Of course that’s just his pissed off side.

Background: Cho is the dragon, and she was abandoned. She met Shin as a child and they lived together in a Sohma residence. They’ve been friends for a long time, and she was the one who
Personality: She’s very kind and gentle. She’s also compassionate to other’s feelings, and she has an uncanny skill of empathy.
Physical Description: She has long black hair, almost silver eyes, an average chest and butt size as well.
Eccentric Characteristic: Although she is very kind, she loves to fight, and her silver eyes are also quite eccentric.

Background:Parents turned her away at thought of having an animal for a child and sent her away. Their memories were suppressed and she now goes to an all girls school as to avoid any incedents. Doesn't talk to parents
Personality:very artistic, spends most of her time drawing and daydreaming. Tries to be optimistic but is naturally pessimistic. Shy. She has a short attention span.
